Voor het tweede jaar op rij, zal er maandag 24 mei 2021 door de Corona weer géén Pinksterprocessie zijn in “Beeg”. Géén versieringen op straten waar de processie zijn gang mag gaan.
Géén Pinstergevoel, ook al zorgen de Beegtenaere dat ze vlaai en/of kaw sjootel hebben, het echte Pinksterkermisgevoel zal er weer niet bij zijn.
Géén kermis. Géén communicanten en leerkrachten die tijdens de processie mee mogen lopen en mogen genieten van hun échte communiefeest, want dat hoort er toch bij. Ook al hebben ze hun feestje mogen vieren met hun ouders, het is toch anders dan anders!
Géén kinderen die lopen in mooie gewaden en die het brood, vis, spijkers, doornkroon etc. meedragen en Géén Maria die bij de kinderen meeloopt.

Zoveel Géén, en iedereen die al of niet bij een vereniging is, wil toch maar dat ene ding. Niet meer Géén, maar alleen nog maar “Ja we mogen weer”.
We mogen weer feest vieren zoals we het vanouds altijd gedaan hebben, we willen zo graag dat het virus nu eindelijk gaat buigen voor de gemeenschap en zijn verlies in ziet.
We mogen weer gezamenlijk dat biertje drinken en (heel even) terugkijken op deze vervelende tijd.
Het heeft genoeg slachtoffers gehad/gekost en we willen weer zo normaal mogelijk door het leven gaan, zonder beperkingen, elkaar de hand schudden en aanraken.
Die prik, het vaccins nemen of niet! Iedereen maakt het voor zichzelf uit, maar wees verstandig!
Hopelijk zullen de bewoners van “Beeg” toch hun mooie geelwitte vlaggen buiten aan hun gevel in de wind laten waaien, dit geeft dan toch weer een extra tintje aan de Pinkster(processie)(kermis).
Onze schutterij Broederschap van het “Heilig Kruis” zal net als vorige jaren, weer de kranslegging bij de kapel (waar ooit in de 13e eeuw een voorloper van de latere kerk met Kerktoren stond) op het Rooms-Katholieke kerkhof Heilige Catharina in Papenhoven-Grevenbicht laten plaatsvinden. Dit ter ere van alle overleden leden van onze Broederschap, maar ook in het teken voor iedereen die er ten rusten ligt. Uiteraard zal dit met gepaste anderhalve meter afstand gebeuren.
Deze ceremonie/traditie gaat mensenheugenis terug in de tijd en zal dan ook elk jaar plaats vinden.
De kranslegging zal gebeuren op zondagmorgen 23 mei 2021 om 11.00 uur door ons koningspaar Marlies en Raymond. Deze zullen op gepaste wijze de krans met een gebed aan de voet van de kapel neerleggen.
Na deze ceremonie zal iedereen de graven van familie en schutsbroeders bezoeken en weer even stil staan met ieders herinnering en gedachten.
Uiteraard zal de laatste rustplaats van onze erevoorzitter en generaal Math Vonken die ons op 05 juni 2020 is ontvallen, niet vergeten worden. Math zal altijd in onze gedachten blijven!
Ook zal er dit jaar even stil worden gestaan bij het graf van de gevallen militair Jac Cramers 1940 – 1945. Aangezien wij een schutterij zijn met militaire discipline, hoort dit ook bij het graf van een gevallen held.
